Five steps to your camper trip

Personal contact is central at TotallyCampers. We are happy to help put together your ideal trip. Tailored to your desires and preferences. If you already have an idea of your travel period and you have an idea of your route (or start and end point), we advise you to rent your camper as soon as possible. The closer you get to the desired departure date, the more expensive the travel sum becomes. Certainly in high season it is wise to book at least three quarters of a year in advance. After that period, the rent increases quickly each week. It is not weird at all to rent a campervan even before you have booked an airline ticket. They are generally easier to obtain than a rental camper.

Step 1 – Request a quote

After you have provided us with your desired campervan(s) or vehicle type via the quotation form, you will be contacted personally via e-mail. Our aim is to respond to your request within 24 hours. In the first e-mail you will receive the current price information for your chosen travel period. If possible, we always give you several comparable options so that you, if desired with our advice, can determine whether and in which vehicle you will be travelling. A quotation is unfortunately not indefinitely valid. As the prices vary weekly (going up) there is an expiration date on every quotation that we make.

About the quote: Usually, a quote is valid for a couple of weeks. Except last minute bookings, which are valid until the end of the week. The prices are always all-in. No hidden costs, but a clear insight into the actual and final price. Note: when you rent extra items, such as a navigation system, this is paid for separately when picking up the vehicle.

Step 2 – Booking a vehicle

If you have chosen your campervan, you can confirm this via the booking form. You do not have to make a down payment immediately. We only ask you to pay the down payment after we have confirmed the vehicle of your choice with our suppliers. This way you know for sure that you are making a deposit for your desired vehicle.

Personal contact: a personal travel consultant is assigned to you from the first moment of contact. So you have contact, mainly by e-mail, with the person who knows your situation and plans best. You are welcome with any questions whatsoever: we understand that you will not be able to make such a long journey every year and want to prepare thoroughly.

Step 3 – One month before departure

To complete your motorhome booking the remaining amount (total price – down payment) is paid one month before departure. You pay this directly to the supplier. Cancellation fees will also apply within this month. This is a percentage of the rental amount. The closer you get to the booked rental period, the higher this percentage becomes. We therefore recommend you to have cancellation insurance. In the unlikely event that your trip does not go ahead, you can recover these costs from your insurance.

Step 4 – Your journey

The time has finally come. Your big trip is about to start. Or you fly Down Under, you’re heading out to Canada, the USA, South Africa or Namibia. Of course you have received all appropriate information that fits your specific trip well in advance from us. Hopefully you went through it properly, otherwise you will have enough time on the plane. We are also there for you as a contact person during your trip. If you might encounter problems, we are ready for you.
