The backpacker classic! Nothing beats a Ford Falcon Stationwagon for touring Australia. Perfect for tourists on a budget who still want to experience Australia up close – not through the window of a bus!  Now also available in New Zealand, as the even roomier Toyota Estima.

Seating up to 5 people the hire of this stationwagon vehicle is cheaper than the bus. An affordable, economically sensible and dependable way to tour Australia. Camping gear is included with the TAB 5p Stationwagon. The TAB vehicles have many inclusions: free maps and camping guides, 10% discount on Top Tourist Parks campgrounds, 24 hr roadside assistance, one way rentals to most major towns in Australia are possible (not Adelaide and Alice Springs). Bedding, kitchen utensils and bath- and tea towels are also included. Standard insurance excess is $3500, reducible to $0 which then also includes limited Tyre and Windscreen cover.

Wow, this was an amazing experience. Travelling in Australia for 2,5 months by car. The freedom, the wildlife and the amazing people I’ve met during this period was just outstanding.
Where do you start to book a trip like that? I would with no doubt suggesting to book it via Totally campers booking service. I was in contact with Rene and Ester and they suggested a vehicle that suited my plans and budget seamlessly.  I had a Ford Falcon, this was perfect for my trip and budget, and long enough to sleep in!
