The next day we drove via the B500 to Lake Entrance, again so breathtakingly beautiful. We often said to each other along the way, how incredibly beautiful and nice that we got this route from TotallyCampers. We found this route more beautiful than the Great Ocean road, highly recommended for other people. Through the mountains also so high and such beautiful views. It is certainly very busy there in the winter with skiers!! ”

A 7500 miles camper trip
The camper trip of Lenie and Benny went straight through Australia. From Adelaide to Cairns there are a good 1700 miles. But with all trips and extra routes they have driven 7500 miles with the rental camper without any problems.
A few highlights of the trip:
Kangaroo Island: “We really enjoyed Kangaroo Island. A beautiful island. The campsite that you had booked for us was great. The second night we slept at West KI caravan park. This is definitely recommended. Koalas and wallabies surround you. Good showers etc.. We found Admirals Arc and Remarkable Rocks very beautiful to see. We also enjoyed the little Sahara, to race down there with a surfboard. There is plenty to see. Pelican lagoon is also a very beautiful bay and Hanson Bay too, too bad it was cloudy when we arrived. We certainly think KI is recommended. ”
Melbourne: “The weather was beautiful in Melbourne, we enjoyed ourselves in the city and at an information point, we had a nice route to walk in the city. We’ve seen a lot that way. ”
Fraser Island: “We went to Fraser Island with Pippies Beachhouses, from Rainbow beach. This was all arranged very well. We went three days – two nights. We slept in tents, each our own. Its possible to get sleeping bags and pillows through them, but you can also bring your own.
All the food was included, you could bring your own drinks, the day before they even put that in an Esky, so that we had cold drinks. Water was always there too. You just have to take care of soft drinks yourself.
What is also great here is the sanitary block at the camp, with hot showers. These are hard to find around here, so that was a great bonus. Very neat and clean. It is often with many young people, we are 35 and 37 but were the elders. We had a blast, our camper could be parked at the hostel. Where we slept two nights. 24$ p/n with clean showers, free breakfast and always coffee and tea for the taking.
We went with four 4×4 cars, eight people split between the cars. Anyone over 21 was allowed to drive if wanted. You were assigned to a group swapped drivers within your group. So every day you where in the same car with your own group. We had a great weekend and I will definitely recommend this to others.”
And more …: “Wow, we had a wonderful time here in Australia. We drove from Townsville to Alice Springs, did a great tour to Uluru, never to forget, such wonderful days there. Yesterday we had another day on the Great Barrier reef, what a beautiful underwater world. We just keep on enjoying.
This last week we are staying in Ellis Beach on a caravan park, just by the sea, this is a great place to end our journey. Highly recommended.”
